Phoenix International Systems, Inc., proven pioneer in state-of-the-art data storage technology in providing rugged and reliable COTS data storage solutions, today announced the mission oriented RPC24 high performance Fibre Channel RAID Subsystem. The new system was introduced at MILCOM 2012.

Featuring a capacity of twenty four drives, the lightning fast RPC24 includes two easily removable magazines containing up to twelve solid state disk or hard disk drives, each housed in rugged 2U (3.5”) panel height, 19.5” deep enclosure. It provides up to eight host ports of 8Gb Fibre Channel (followed soon by 6Gb SAS and 10GigE iSCSI) to SAS or SATA devices over a 12Gb SAS internal bus.

The unique design of the RPC24’s rugged, cableless, backplane-based, high density 2U chassis provides a broad environmental operational envelope (-20° to +70° C, 45,000 ft altitude with SSDs), redundant, hot-swap components and vast storage capacity, while assuring the highest level of data availability.

Incorporating aluminum and steel in its rugged construction, the RPC24 weighs only 51 lbs with a full complement of 24 SSDs, is less than 20” deep and is certified to military specifications MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461E.

Major features of the RPC24 Fibre Channel RAID Storage System include:

2U Ruggedized Fibre Channel RAID System
Two 12 Drive Removable Magazines rated at 10K mating cycles
Single or Dual Active with Auto Failover/Failback RAID Controllers
Up to eight 8Gb/sec Fibre Channel Ports
Sustained Data Rates to 5.2GB/sec Reads and 3GB/sec Writes
Battery Free (no maintenance) Cache Backup
Operational Altitude to 45,000 ft
Operational Temperature -20° to 70° C
40 to 440Hz, 90/240 VAC Input Operation
Redundant, Hot-Swap Components
Management GUI and Failover Software
Made in USA
